Spitfire Memorial at Grangemouth

Remembrance Events and Armed Forces Parades

On 9 May 2013 a replica Spitfire was unveiled in Grangemouth, Scotland. The Spitfire pays tribute to the 71 airmen who lost their lives while serving at RAF Grangemouth during the 2nd World War. The Spitfire is a replica of the plane flown by Polish pilot Eugeniusz Lukomski who died in a crash near Grangemouth in 1941. The Spitfire project was initiated by the Cadets of 1333 (Grangemouth) Squadron Air Training Corps.
