A plaque at the Memorial Garden tells the story of Sergeant Pilot Eugeniusz Lukomski and how he died when his Spitfire X4859 crashed in Avondale estate, Polmont. He was 23 years of age and is buried in Grandsable cemetery at Grangemouth.
