Spitfire Memorial at Grangemouth

On 9 May 2013 a replica Spitfire was unveiled in Grangemouth, Scotland. The Spitfire pays tribute to 71 airmen who lost their lives while serving at RAF Grangemouth during the 2nd World War. The Spitfire is a replica of the plane flown by Polish pilot Eugeniusz Lukomski who died in a crash near Grangemouth in 1941.

1st Royal Tank Regiment Homecoming Parade Glasgow

On 24 November 2012 the 1st Royal Tank Regiment paraded through Glasgow city centre. The parade was a homecoming parade to mark their return from Afghanistan. They marched from Holland Street, near Charing Cross, to George Square where Glasgow's Lord Provost Sadie Docherty took the salute.

Remembrance Sunday Glasgow 2012

The annual service of remembrance to commemorate British and Commonwealth forces who gave their lives in conflict was held in George Square, Glasgow, on 11 November 2012. A parade of serving military personnel and veterans took place.

Seafarers' Service at Glasgow Cathedral 2012

The annual Seafarers' Service was held in Glasgow Cathedral on Sunday 21 October 2012. The service honours all seafarers from the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy and Fishermen. Prior to the service a Royal Navy band played and contingents of Sea Cadets and Veterans were inspected by a Senior Naval Officer.

Polish Armed Forces Memorial - 2012 Commemoration

On 1st September 2012 the annual ceremony to honour the memory of Polish Forces during the 2nd World War was held at the Polish Armed Forces Memorial monument. The monument is located at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire, UK.
