Armed Forces Day 2016 Glasgow

On 25 June 2016 Glasgow celebrated Armed Forces Day. There was a parade of serving military personnel, veterans and cadets. The parade was led by the Lowland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. The salute was taken at the Cenotaph in George Square.

On 18 June 2016 the glamorous dance troupe the Kennedy Cupcakes performed on stage at the Stirling Military Show. They danced to the music of the big band era.

On 18 June 2016 Armed Forces Day was celebrated in Stirling at the Stirling Military Show. A parade of veterans, military personnel and cadets paraded from the town centre to the Show venue at Kings Park.

Royal Highland Fusiliers (2 Scots) Homecoming Parade in Glasgow 2016

On 9 June 2016 the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (2 Scots), took part in a homecoming parade in Glasgow. They marched from Holland Street to George Square in the city centre. The Battalion recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan.

Polish Scouts Commemorate Polish Cursed Soldiers

On 28 February 2016 Polish Scouts remembered the Polish resistance fighters who fought against the communist takeover of Poland by the Soviet Union. A Mass was held at Saint Margaret Mary's Church in Edinburgh and later Polish Scouts took part in a Role Playing Game "Cursed Soldiers" at The Meadows park.
