The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) cares for the World War 2 graves of over 2,300 members of the Polish Armed Forces who are buried in Britain. These graves are in 268 different locations. Photographs of 1,118 of these Polish war graves are available on derekcrowe.com.

The CWGC provides headstones for those who died between 3 September 1939 and 31 December 1947. If a person died between these dates whilst in war service or of causes attributable to war service then they were classified as a war casualty and entitled to a CWGC headstone.
