The arrivals board at Glasgow Central station lets passengers know that The Royal Scot express train from London Euston was on time at Carlisle and that the trains making the steamer connections at Stranraer, from Northern Ireland, and at Ardrossan, from the Isle of Arran, are due to arrive soon at the station.

Royal Mail vans have arrived at Glasgow Central station in July 1989 carrying mail bags for loading on the Travelling Post Office (TPO) Up Special mail train which left Glasgow Central at 19.30 for London Euston.
