Remembering 1944 Warsaw Uprising - A Minute of Homage
Every year on the 1st August at 5pm the people of Warsaw stand still for one minute. They commemorate the 1944 Warsaw Uprising when the Polish Home Army in Warsaw attacked the occupying German Army. Sixty-three days later the city lay in ruins and 200,000 were dead.
The video shows the minute of homage on 1 August 2011 as sirens wail across Warsaw.
